Alsestra"Zesty" fondly remembers her father cooking while speaking highly of Turnip brand wines and spirits.  It wasn't long that she discovered her own "bordering on fangirlism" for the many smooth and sharp beverages.  When Foto said she could meet a Turnip at the Apple Reunion, it was one of the few times Zesty was eager to be social.   

She sure got her wish.

Hayseed Turnip Truck is the current CEO of the Turnip clan's whiskey and shines business.  Turnip Brand Brews is as far reaching as the Apple family farms.  A small branch of the apple family, The Turnips settled elsewhere to grow their dicots, but later rejoined the Apples at the start of Ponyville.  As far as wealth goes, they are second to the Oranges in profit.  Liquor is quicker, folks!

Turnip is happily eccentric.  Although able to afford a penthouse apartment in Manehattan midtown, he prefers to do all his own cooking and cleaning.  Ponies will be shocked to see him hanging out the side of a building, cleaning windows, and easily confuse the scruffy stallion as a janitor.  All in all he has a strong head for business.  Not just keeping the company afloat, but expanding it past Equestria's boarders.

Fun Facts:

-Turnip is scrawny compared to the rest of the Apple Stallions, but is just as durable.  He is the Apple Family relay race champ for 10 years running.

-Turnip is extremely family focused.  He will meet any pony with a "Y'all are practically 'kin!" and a warm hug.

-His apartment has a strong rustic decor.  Hay colored rugs, warm wood finishing along the walls.  He even got talked into getting a massage bed that he calls "the Rodeo."

-Turnip has had very poor luck with mares.  The majority seeing him as a rube with a big wallet.  His current dating strategy is to just let the mares in his family set up the blind dates. He figures they have better taste.
